MEQUON, Wis., November 13, 2006 – Encrypta Gifts has introduced a version of its popular Encrypta cryptex designed specifically for retail distribution. The company's new product is available for immediate shipment to retailers interested in offering this unique gift item for the Christmas shopping season. The retail version of the Encrypta cryptex has a suggested retail price of $49.95.

The Encrypta cryptex is not a reproduction of the cryptex seen in "The Da Vinci Code," the blockbuster movie based on the best-selling book by Dan Brown. Rather than designing a product for movie buffs, Encrypta Gifts created its cryptex specifically for gift-givers.

Allen Oelschlaeger, one of the founders of Encrypta Gifts, said "Our original Encrypta cryptex, introduced in 2005, is only available via mail order because each one is custom laser-etched with a secret code of the customer's choosing. With this new retail version the customer can set the secret code themselves in just a few minutes using the included adhesive character inserts."

The retail version of the Encrypta cryptex has a recess cut into each of the 56 tumbler faces and comes with a set of 112 polycarbonate inserts (4 of each letter, 4 blanks, and 4 symbols). The gift giver sets the secret code that will unlock the cryptex by placing the inserts into the recesses. Inside the cryptex is a hidden chamber in which the gift giver can place a small gift (e.g., money, jewelry, personal note). For the gift recipient to access their gift, they must figure out the secret code.

The retail version of the Encrypta cryptex includes:

• Encrypta greeting card, for gift-giver to share clues for secret code.
• Encrypta notepaper, for gift-giver to use in writing a personal message for placement in the hidden chamber.
